Sunday Blues: Bathroom Edition

And just like that another week is ahead of us! Sundays are bittersweet to me. I’m usually not up to anything, just preparing for the school or work week, hoping it’s another good one! So in spirit of today’s ‘feeling blue’, here is an inspiration look of a blue styled bathroom I put together. Everything will be linked below according to the description name.

Image Look

My favorite place to find fun tiles is online at tilebar. There’s always a fun pattern to try and incorporate into a design. The vanity itself is also set as an inspiration. I like to make more counter space if possible. It would be painted a darker navy to pick up on the detail in the floor tile and the pulls would be exchanged for knobs. All other details are from a few other places I like to check out when designing.

Here’s to a new week! xo, G

Spring Decor Refresh

Spring is almost here! When the seasons start to change, I find it to be the perfect time to refresh your home’s look. Not every budget allows for a total makeover though. Pillows, throw blankets and small accents can be easy and affordable items to bring in and change up your home’s look. Here are some items pieced together from Pier1 imports that have a fresh spring design to them, but could also be placed all year long.

Everything is linked below, including filler options for the driftwood bowl. I hope this gave you some spring inspiration! Leave a comment below if you have questions or want to share your favorite part about spring.

New Year: Health & Fitness

Happy New Year! With that in mind I am sure everyone has a couple of resolutions they will try and make in 2018. It’s pretty cliche to put eating better and getting to the gym more at the top of the list, but hey we’re all in it together.

I’m always trying to be a little more healthier and make it to the gym at least three times a week. I was never one that wanted to fall for nutrition or workout supplements, but over the summer I came across a natural supplement line called WM Nutrition. I read a few posts about it and figured I would give it a try since I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted through my diet and exercise alone. Sometimes we need a little extra push, right?

After using WM Nutrition’s AdvantraSlim and Pre-Workout for about 5 months now, I can honestly say I have noticed a difference. I always start my day with one or the other. Most often I drink the AdvantraSlim before breakfast and will take the Pre-Workout in the afternoon if I don’t have time for a morning workout. Before taking AdvantraSlim I could never make it to lunch at noon, I’d have to have some sort of snack mid-morning. For some that may work, but I eat a larger breakfast that should keep me full. Now I don’t find myself getting so hungry before lunch is even close. As for the Pre-Workout I can last a lot longer at the gym without crashing on the treadmill only 30 minutes in. With both of the products containing natural caffeine I feel more energized throughout the day when taking either of them and they don’t make me jittery. I notice myself burning out sooner through my day if I happen to skip a supplement. There is a caffeine free option too though if you want to try that!

Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about my experience using the products, or head to WM Nutrition to contact them. I see discount codes through social media, contact me if you’re really interested but hesitant about the price.

Sorry for the longer post, I just had to share how great this product has been for me. Happy New Year and good luck to sticking with your resolutions!

Office Space Inspiration

With the New Year approaching and one of my resolutions being to work on my blog more, I am dreaming of a future office look I hope to have one day. I’m always thinking of new things, so this will probably change by the time I have an actual office space. I have sourced a few items online below. Everything is from Restoration Hardware or Anthropologie, but I love to go out and shop in stores to try and find similar pieces at a lesser cost.

I have put together a more modern look with feminine touches. The office desk and chair could easily be given a more masculine look by using navy or army green colored accents and replacing the meeting chairs with leather club chairs.

Everything will be linked through text below. Contact me with any questions you may have as well!

Processed with VSCO with hb2 presetProcessed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Welcoming myself back! I have been MIA for months from the blog. I am hoping and going to start planning that 2018 is when I officially start to take my blog and dreams to the next level they need to be at. I just like things to be picture perfect, and that has been a challenge for me to achieve.

But today I have a picture perfect post featuring this wool blend Michael Kors coat. The exact style is available at Nordstrom Rack  and Macy’s. I have also linked two similar styles below. Stay warm this winter season, and thanks for coming back!

It may be safe to say that Summer is upon us here in Minnesota! To me this is the time where everyone is ready to start getting back outside and enjoy the warmer weather. It all starts with a great space to either be around yourself or to have together when friends and family are over.

Here I have taken just a few great pieces from Restoration Hardware to start a sophisticated beachy space. With the printed blue colored rug and pillows give off a sense of the beach. Where then the furniture design and finish along with the lanterns bring a more sophisticated look.

I hope this can bring some inspiration to start off your entertaining for the summer!

It’s almost Friday everyone! With warmer weather on its way, I thought I would share some fun pieces I came across online over at Nordstrom!

This blush and white blouse would pair great with the skirt above, or even a pair of jeans for a more casual look. I have been seeing lace all over lately as well. I think the blue dress would be perfect for any spring time occasion. And of course a new handbag can always be put to good use. The pale blue and blushed colored handbags would fit with any of the pieces above!

Hope this can bring you some inspiration for your Springtime wardrobe! Everything is linked in text.

Spring Time Brunch

FullSizeRenderIMG_5770FullSizeRender (1)

Welcome Spring!! Once March comes around and the weather starts to finally warm up a bit, I find it the perfect time to have family and friends over. Hosting brunch is one of my favorite ways to entertain my family and friends. Today I wanted to share a coffee cake recipe I came across and an egg bake that I made up the other day when I had a few of my girlfriends over!

I hope you all can find time this spring to get together with family and friends! Thanks for stopping by, xo G

Spinach, Sausage and Goat Cheese Egg Bake

  • 8-10 eggs
  • 2 TBSP of milk
  • 1/4 cup of spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of mild Italian sausage, cooked and chopped
  • 1/4 cup of goat cheese, crumbled
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Whisk eggs and milk together. Stir in spinach, sausage and cheese. You can always add more of whatever you’d like. If the mixture needs more thinning, add another splash of milk. Bake at 350ºF for about 30-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. It will depend on how thick your egg bake is.

Friday Night Taquitos

taquido-1taquido-2taquido-3 It’s Friday!! At the end of the week I’m always looking for something quick and easy to make for dinner, and I’ve usually given up on cooking healthy. These taquitos fall right under that category! You may feel less guilty about the flour tortilla and cream cheese mixture though if you pair these with mexican quinoa. Check out that recipe I posted awhile back.

Let’s get started on putting these together! I find it easiest to boil the chicken, let it cool slightly and then transfer it to a standing mixer. Use your paddle attachment to shred the chicken, trust me it works! Then you add the cream cheese, shredded cheese and green chiles. You can also add hot sauce if you’d like. I’ve also made taquitos with green onions and a little bit of garlic powder when I’ve been out of green chiles, and they’ve tasted just as great!

I used about 1/4 cup of the mixture per tortilla and got about 8 or so taquitos with having around 3 cups of shredded chicken. I tend to eyeball a lot of things when cooking. I didn’t measure exactly how much chicken I had, but the recipe below gives exact measurements! Instead of frying these as the recipe I found said, I baked my taquitos at 375°F for about 10 minutes, or just until crispy and slightly golden.

Hope you enjoy! xo, G

Recipe for Chicken, Peppers and Cream Cheese Taquitos

  • 3 cups of shredded chicken
  • 8 ounces of cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of hot sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 2 (4.5 ounces) cans of chopped green chiles [I didn’t use this much, depending on how spicy you want them and how much chicken you do shred you may want to use less]
  • flour tortillas
